After starting the year with Steven Soderbergh, Ryan and Jay take a look back at a classic Hollywood director as versatile as Howard Hawks. Over a career spanning nearly fifty years, the man made some of the most successful and important films of his time, in various genres including comedy, crime thrillers, dramas, musicals and westerns. As the series progressed, the Extra Film boys realized how Hawks could be one of the most underrated directors of his time and how the man was a pioneer in promoting provocative ideas. at a time when directors were restricted by studios and the government from doing so. Educational and entertaining, this was one movie series you wouldn’t want to miss.
