Petaluma Film Alliance’s Fall Film Series Begins

It’s that time of year again.

Mike Traina, chair of the Department of Communication Studies at Santa Rosa Junior College and director of the Petaluma Film Alliance, announced the film and special guest lineup for JC’s fall 2022 season.

I guess most movie buffs and pop culture junkies would say this is a good movie.

The school’s film production teacher, Brian Antonson, will co-host the weekly series open to the public with Traina.

It all starts on Wednesday September 7 with a screening of Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert in 2022, “Everything, Everywhere, All At Once”, with Michelle Yeoh.

Other highlights of the season are Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 “Dune” (Wednesday September 14), Harold Lloyd’s 1923 silent film “Safety Last” (Wednesday September 28), live musical accompaniment by Frederick Hodges and Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw. 2020 documentary “The Truffle Hunters” (Wednesday, November 16).

The series concludes on Wednesday, November 30 with a screening of Steven Spielberg’s “ET: The Extra-Terrestrial” in 1982.

All films include a presentation, with special guests and audiovisual dissection of the film, one hour before the screening. Most movies start at 7 p.m., although shows on September 7 and 14 begin screening at 6:30 p.m.
