Movie scenes will be shot on the former Davis College campus in JC

Some well-known names may soon be found in Broome County as production on a film project begins.

Adam Weitsman, owner of the former Davis College campus in Johnson City, said the site would be used for filming scenes for a “big budget movie.”

Weitsman said those involved in the project visited the site off Riverside Drive this month.

Speaking on WNBF radios Binghamton now program Tuesday, Weitsman said Matthew Modine and a few other high-profile actors will be in production. He mentioned that John Travolta and Dustin Hoffman could be involved.

Weitsman said Modine – who will be the director – expects to shoot “a third of the film here.” He said the campus gymnasium was to be used to shoot indoor scenes.

Weitsman said he expects an official production announcement to be made soon.
