Marvel’s First X-Men Movie Plot May Have Been Revealed In Major Leak

Disney completed its acquisition of Fox in 2019, which meant Marvel would have access to several immensely popular characters. Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and Deadpool were all on the list, with Marvel set to reboot each of those franchises. Dead Pool 3 should be a softer reboot, of course. But it will be a while before these characters join the MCU’s Avengers. And the X-Men may be the last to join the MCU as rumors have it that Kevin Feige & Co. won’t release any mutant movies until 2025.

Marvel has started incorporating mutants even though we don’t have an official X-Men movie announcement. And the studio needs to have a strategy for adding mutants to the MCU in a way that makes sense for the overall storyline. After all, the MCU has so far lacked mutants because Fox owned the rights. They must therefore appear in the MCU without requiring complicated explanations.

It turns out that the plot of the first MCU X-Men movie could have been revealed during a major leak. But before you continue reading, we warn you that major spoilers follow below.

The State of the MCU Mutants So Far

X-Men fans who are dying to see mutants in action in the MCU have to wait a little longer. Marvel hasn’t made much headway so far, with rumors that the studio may be running out of clock on existing X-Men talent deals it inherited from Fox. Hence the impossibility of producing new shows with the mutants he might want to present in the MCU.

The same rumors say that Marvel must use Fox actors for any X-Men character it might want to use. And we already saw that with Professor X (Patrick Stewart) in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But this variant of Charles Xavier was from a different reality, and he died moments after appearing onscreen.

Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) and Bruno Carrelli (Matt Lintz) in Ms. Marvel episode 2.

Likewise, Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role as Wade Wilson/Deadpool from the Fox films. So Marvel can use this X-Men character in Dead Pool 3although we don’t have an official release date yet.

On top of that, Marvel hinted at other mutants in the MCU. We may have seen one in Black Widow. And we have certainly seen one in Ms. Marvel. Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) is Marvel’s first major mutant revelation. She knows she is a mutant, even though there is no label for her genetic abnormality.

As you noticed, we’re only talking about live-action MCU projects involving mutants so far. Because Marvel has already announced its X-Men ’97 animated series for a Disney Plus debut in 2023.

With all of this in mind, it seems too early for a x-men movie plot leak. We’re years away from a Marvel reboot if the rumors are accurate. Additionally, earlier rumors say that Marvel might opt for a different title for the film: Mutants.

But Marvel seems to be placing all the Easter eggs it needs for the arrival of the X-Men. Like Ms. Marvel.

Marvel’s X-Men Movie Plot Leaked

That means Marvel has an idea of where it might want to go with its big x-men to restart. And ideas like these can always leak.

According ScreenGeek, Marvel Studios has chosen the comic book series that will inspire the next film. Apparently the first of the MCU x-men the film will be based on Joss Whedon Amazing X-Men Course.

The blog reports that the comics ran between 2004 and 2008 in the Grant Morrison continuity. New X-Men. Additionally, the team in Whedon’s run had Cyclops and Emma Frost as team leaders.

Beast, Kitty Pryde, Wolverine, and Colossus were also part of the team. According to other rumors, Wolverine should appear in Dead Pool 3.

As for the overall story of this X-Men race, it covers a massive conflict with an alien race:

Whedon’s Amazing X-Men run featured four different story arcs in Gifted, Dangerous, Torn upand unstoppable. A condensed version of the overarching plot is that the team must stop an alien race from destroying Earth – while dealing with the announcement of a mutant cure and various other problems that arise along the way.

That said, we’re only looking at a rumor at this time. We don’t know when Marvel will announce the first live-action x-men film. And if this leak is accurate, then Marvel has plenty of time to adapt their plans and make changes so they can still surprise fans.
