Intrepid Museum Announces 2022 Free Summer Movie Series Lineup

Summer in New York is about to get even cooler. The Intrepid Sea, Air, & Space Museum celebrates 40 years with completely free outdoor film screenings.

Beginning May 27, the Intrepid Museum’s Summer Movie Series will show different movies on select Friday nights from 5-9 p.m. On these days, dubbed Free Fridays, guests will be able to enter the museum for free and stay for the movie of the day.

Film screenings will take place on the flight deck of Intrepid and begin at sunset. Seating is limited and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and comfy blankets to get the most out of the experience.

While light snacks and refreshments will be sold at the outdoor cinema, customers can bring their own food and drink. Alcohol is not allowed.

Here is the free film screening lineup for this year’s summer film series:

  • Friday, May 27: Crimson Tide
  • Friday, June 24: AND the extra-terrestrial
  • Friday July 29: Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan
  • Friday August 26: blade runner

Doors open at 5 p.m. and close at 8:30 p.m. All outings are final and re-entry is not permitted.
