Hey pandas, what’s the most shocking movie plot twist of all time?

for example Darth Vader is Luke’s father.

“I see dead people”. When Bruce Willis realizes he’s been dead all along.

When I went to see “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” I hadn’t seen any of the previews yet, so I was pleasantly surprised to see Arnold’s T-800 being the good guy when he said ” Git Daown!”

I saw “The Blair Witch Project” before it was widely known to be a dramatization rather than actual found footage at a small indie festival in my hometown. So I guess the plot twist was “it was all wrong” but damn it was so compelling at the time.

Yes, I read the books.

For me it would be: Sirius Black dying in “Order of the Phoenix”. I mean, Harry finally has something near a father and then Sirius dies!!!! So unfair…

Saw – Jigsaw’s killer was lying on the floor in the room with them the whole time, pretending to be dead. Simple, but it blew me away.

Coco actually surprised me when we found out that Ernesto De La Cruz murdered Hector and stole his music and guitar. Also, the revelation that Hector was actually Miguel’s great-great-grandfather, and not Ernesto. Usually I’m aware of plot twists, but this one was surprisingly dark and the reveal suddenly transforms Hector, who until then seemed like the comedy relief in this film, into a tragic character.

(SPOILERS FOR RED NOTICE WHICH IS AN AWESOME MOVIE!!!) This was when Hartley and Bishop worked together and just used Booth to get to Cleopatra’s third egg. I did not expect that. I also didn’t expect Ryan Reynolds to say, “WHAT THE FFFFFFFFFFF** K?!?!?!” in a PG-13 movie.

The crying game

The plot twist is still the most shocking I can remember. I can’t say without totally ruining the movie, but given the 1990s era and the love story involving IRA soldiers before 9/11.

One of the best twists I’ve seen comes from an 80s movie called The Telephone. Whoopi Goldberg spends 2 hours in her apartment talking on the phone. The end comes when the phone company comes to confiscate his phone for non-payment. She tells the guy how badly she needs her phone but when he tells her the service was down for 2 weeks she kills him with the phone. Horrible movie, great ending.
