Here are all the Marvel movies and series coming in 2022

With four live-action series, one animated series, and four movies releasing throughout 2021, it’s no surprise that Marvel has left us wanting more. But fear not, as more movies and series are set to release throughout 2022, and we’ve compiled a full list. Here’s what the Marvel movies are expecting next year:

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (May 6, 2022)

Benedict Cumberbatch is back to reprise his titular role as Dr. Stephen Strange, alongside actors Rachel McAdams and Benedict Wong as Christine Palmer and Wong, respectively. Although most of the plot is still largely unknown, we do know that it follows Doctor Strange in his search for the Time Stone. Additionally, as the title suggests, there are plans to explore the concept of the multiverse within the MCU, something that hasn’t been done much yet.

What we also know is that Elizabeth Olsen is set to make a cameo as Wanda Maximoff, leading to a connection to Marvel’s extreme success. Wanda vision. Additionally, newcomer Xochitl Gomez is set to make her Marvel debut as America Chavez, a super-powered teenager from another dimension. Sam Raimi, director of films such as evil Dead trilogy, is set to direct the film, which means you can probably expect a scare or two.

Thor: Love and Thunder (July 8, 2022)

As the first MCU character to make a fourth film about them, Thor’s next appearance looks promising. After getting overwhelmingly positive reviews for Thor: Ragnarok, Taiki Waititi is directing the latest film following the Norse god of thunder. Chris Hemsworth is of course set to reprise his lead role, and he’ll be joined by Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, as well as characters we haven’t seen in a while, such as Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. and Jamie Alexander as Lady Sif. The Guardians of the Galaxy should also join Thor in his intergalactic escapades.

Although plot details are scarce, we do have some information. We know producer Kevin Feige said the film adapts many elements from the comics, including the introduction of Jane Foster as Lady Thor. We also know Thor is set to fight a new villain named Gorr the God-Butcher, played by Christian Bale, and with a name like that, it’s no surprise fans are already excited for his appearance.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (11 Nov 2022)

Following the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman in August 2020, fans found themselves grieving and wondering where the franchise would go from here. Director Ryan Coogler has confirmed that they won’t be recasting T’Challa, which has left a lot of speculation about the film’s plot. Like the other two films releasing in 2022, details about the film are scarce. However, actors such as Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, and Lupita Nyong’o will return to reprise their roles as Shuri, M’baku, Okoye, W’kabi, and Nakia, respectively.

Along with that, actor Tenoch Huerta was cast, fueling speculation that the film’s main antagonist will be Namor, an Atlantean-human hybrid with a distinct rivalry to T’Challa in the comics. Additionally, Dominique Thorne was cast as Ironheart, a fifteen-year-old girl named Riri Williams with an iron suit similar to Iron Man’s.

Ms. Marvel (Summer 2022)

This series is intended to serve as an origin story for Ms. Marvel. It follows a sixteen-year-old Pakistani-American girl named Kamala Khan as she discovers that she is Inhuman, a type of alien-human hybrid whose powers are only activated upon contact with crystal matter. Terrigen.

The titular Ms. Marvel is set to be played by actress Iman Vellani, with supporting characters including fellow superhero Kareem/Red Dagger and friend Bruno Carelli, played by Aramis Knight and Matt Lintz, respectively.

Kevin Feige described it as similar to Indiana Jones but with a touch of mental health talk. Along with that, Emily Vancamp is set to make an appearance on the show, reprising her role as Sharon Carter after not being seen since the events of Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

She-Hulk (to be determined)

She-Hulk follows Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, a young lawyer who develops Hulk-like powers similar to her cousin Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo. Tim Roth is also set to play the Abomination, a scientist who transformed into a large humanoid creature with similar strength to the Hulk and a rivalry to match. Adding to this potential for conflict is Titania, a notable rival to She-Hulk in the comics, who is set to be played by Jameela Jamil.

What if…? Season 2 (TBD)

Jeffrey Wright is back as The Watcher in the second season of Marvel’s animated series What if…? Head Writer AC Bradley went on to state that the second season was going to take a different approach from the first. There are plans to focus less on doomsday scenarios and more character-driven stories. Rumors have also swirled about new characters such as Shang-Chi making appearances in the series, but as of now, little is known about the series.

Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (December 2022)

Although almost nothing is known about the special, a few details have been shared. The entire cast of guardians of the galaxy movies is about to appear, and it will canonically take place between the events of Thor: Love and Thunder and Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
