Fall Drive-In Movie Series Announced in Hamden

HAMDEN, CT – A special drive-in movie series will be held inside Downtown Park in October, the Hamden Recreation Department announced, in partnership with the Hamden Downtown Park Commission and Hamden Police Department.

The Drive-In movie series will take place Friday nights, October 8 through October 29 on the 40-foot “big screen” and is aimed at families, teens and couples of all ages. Limited concession vendors will be on site, although families are encouraged to bring a meal to share in their vehicles.

At this time, no picnic-style seating is available at the site – only vehicles will have access to the film’s sound, officials say.

“Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure a parking space,” officials wrote in a press release. “Please be sure to follow instructions and volunteers as they help you park. As the downtown park is relatively flat, the parking rows will be staggered to provide the best possible viewing angles. Participants should enter through Hamden Middle School and continue into City Center Park via the access road.”

The Drive-In movie series will run every Friday night inside Town Center Park from October 8-29 with the following schedule:

  • October 8 – Jurassic Park (original)
  • October 15 – Hocus Pocus
  • October 22 – Tyler Perry’s BOO!
  • October 29 – THE SIXTH SENSE

ALL SHOWS START AT 7:30 PM

Pick up a free “gift bag” from the Hamden Police Department on October 29.
