FULTON – The Cinema Arts cinema at the CNY Arts Center is in the final month of weekly summer movies with a new experience for moviegoers. A solo version of a Hugh Jackman film on PT Barnum premieres at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 20, with dinner also served. The Arts Cinema Theater is located in the Arts Center at 121 Cayuga Street in downtown Fulton.
The unique version of the blockbuster film, which chronicles the life of PT Barnum as he created Barnum and Bailey Circus, the world’s greatest show on earth, will feature onscreen captioned lyrics. Film buffs are encouraged to celebrate the award-winning score of this incredible musical by singing.
The circus-themed film will be paired with a circus-themed dinner for a unique cinematic event. Dinner will include a choice of corn dog or hamburger as well as sides. Guests are invited to dress up as their favorite character.
It is best to register in advance for the singalong on September 20.
“We are delighted to present this unique cinematic experience with lyrics that encourage audiences to sing along. Several songs on the score have been critically acclaimed with an Oscar for Best Original Song, ”said film director Alice Lamb.
Several better-known titles are also on the program to end the weekly films from Monday at 6 p.m. Upcoming films include a Dolly Parton, Queen Latifah’s favorite on August 16, a heroic Pixar film on August 23, and a Hawaiian musical Elvis tribute on August 30.
