Actress Aisha Tyler reveals what inspired her episode of The Boys Presents: Devilish.

In an exclusive interview with CBR, Tyler explained how the episode “Nubian vs. Nubian” is the superhero version of The parent trap, and how it happened. “I pitched them a few different ideas,” Tyler said. “Honestly, I can’t remember the other ideas I came up with. But I wanted to watch what happens when superheroes come home, and probably the character in the episode that was me was Maya, not Nubia, because I was obsessed with comic books when I was a kid.”

Maya is introduced in the episode as the daughter of Nubia and Nubian Prince, a divorcing superhero couple. Nubian Prince had been introduced in the very first episode of The boys as a superhero that Vought sought to found in the city of Baltimore, but the animated story is most viewers have seen supe. As Tyler voices Nubia in the episode, she explains how her own upbringing inspired the character of Maya.

“I was obsessed with superheroes and genre films and explosions, and I had this kind of giddy idea about this world. But my parents divorced when I was very young, around 10 years old. And I think a lot of kids are like, ‘I had scars!’ I was like, ‘Ah, you know, they tried…'” Maya falls into that final mindset at the end. of the episode, accepting divorce as “best” for everyone.

The move comes after Maya attempts to orchestrate the rekindling of her parents’ affection for each other, enlisting the help of G-Men member Ground Hawk, but the attempt goes awry. Tyler said, “I was really pragmatic here when she tried to create this kind of ‘superhero parental trap situation’ and it just doesn’t work,” calling Maya a “little badass” in the episode. .

“She’s a really crafty kid. She’s self-reliant. She’s pragmatic. She’s not hurt. She’s a normal kid. She’s got it all figured out. And she’s my favorite.”

It is unknown at this time if we will see the characters of “Nubian vs Nubian” reappear in Diabolical Where The boys.
