10 Recent Post-Credits Movie Scenes That Went To Nothing

Contrary to popular belief, the post-credits scenes overall aren’t new. The majority of Jackie Chan films end with a blooper. Classics like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Airplane! end with a stupid gag.

But in recent years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has popularized a very different type of after-credit sequence – the stinger.

When Nick Fury showed up at the end of Iron Man to discuss the Avengers, fans were thrilled to see Earth’s Mightiest Heroes come together. Because this 30-second scene generated so much buzz, it wasn’t long before every studio jumped on the bandwagon.

Before you know it, movies were coming with one, two, or three scenes after the credits.

While these bonus scenes imply that more are on the way, that’s not always a guarantee. If the movie drops or gets a lot of flack, potential sequels may be scrapped.

When this happens, whatever appears in the post-credits may never materialize.

Sometimes – like Transformers, Power Rangers, and X-Men, including various stingers teasing future installments – it just wasn’t meant to be.

The 1976 TV series Charlie’s Angels follows a detective agency that recruits three beautiful women to carry out dangerous missions. The show was campy as hell but was such a hit that it was inevitable that Hollywood would adapt the property for the big screen.

Even though the first series of films ended in 2003, director and actress Elizabeth Banks thought it was high time the badass bombshells made a comeback, inspiring her to film and star in a reboot of Charlie’s Angels. in 2019.

Unfortunately, it didn’t win over critics or the box office, giving the film no chance of a sequel. It’s a shame the franchise hasn’t taken off since Charlies’ Angels fueled up with its post-credits scenes. We had cameos galore from Laverne Cox, Ronda Rousey, Hailee Steinfield, Lili Reinhart, Danica Patrick and Olympians Aly Raisman and Chloe Kim.

Not only does the stinger include some awesome martial arts scenes and a hilarious skydiving sequence, Elena gets an Angels tattoo, proving she’s been officially welcomed into Charlie’s agency. But because the movie underperformed, we won’t get a chance to see this incarnation of the Angels again.
